AKAI RESURRECTS MPC [VIDEO]

Remember that beat crunching, smooth buttery touchpad having, green LED display behemoth on which countless Hip Hop classics where brought to life? Well, the iconic MPC sampler workstation is back and it promises to be better than ever!

Named the MPC Renaissance, at first glance it looks very much like the classic series of rigs, but this one adds a whole load of goodies not even imagined when the original dropped back in the late 80’s and come into its own in the early 90’s. Along with a beefed up integrated pop-up display, there are also 16 rotary Q-Link controls, four-channel USB 2.0 audio interface, two-port USB 2.0 hubs, and the ability to go back in time with its special “Vintage Mode” which changes its sound character back to that of the MPC3000 and the MPC60. The software is just as large with 64-track sequencing capability, 6GB+ sound library, instant mapping and real-time adjustment of VST plug-ins, and support for WAV, MP3, AIFF, REX and SND!

This is just a quick list of features and there promises to be a lot more revealed soon. There hasn’t even been a release date or price announced yet, so stay tuned here or check out the official Akai site for more info.
