WTF: Projector Mapped Turntables

WTF: Projector Mapped Turntables

We’ve seen projectors make their way into the DJ booth before, but this, well this takes it to a whole new level.

DIY engineers Mark Morris & Bruce Lott have recently begun work on a lil project that just might change the game and their lives. I don’t know what they were listening to or better yet smoking when they thought up of this idea, but they’ve come up with a way to project a mapped layer onto your already existing physical set-up which incorporates your DJ software, is platter and sound reactive, and can be used to customize your decks with graphics, visualizations, and more. And to think, these guys are just getting started. We’ll keep an eye on this for sure.

What’s really appealing about this whole set-up is that it actually draws a DJs eyes back to the decks and away from a laptop. That is pretty cool right there and real DJs will appreciate that even if the new fangled technology makes them a lil nervous.

Don’t have the slightest idea what I’m talking about, here’s a secret, I barely do either, so let’s just watch the video!
