NEW MUSIC: TEMPORARY HERO – YOUTH REMIXES
The bio reads that Temporary Hero is “the inter-galaxy lovechild of Thom Yorke, Madonna, and Ono conceived in the mode of Depeche,” and that he/she/they reside in the “galaxy”. I’m pretty sure it’s a singular dude behind TH, but the vagueness does add a bit of intrigue to the already interesting piece of work that is “Youth” and frankly, I don’t mind playing along.
An independent release as far as I can tell, ‘Youth’ originally dropped at the tail end of January. When it came across my desk, (yes, I have a real wooden desk – underneath my desktop PC) I was immediately taken in by it’s 1980’s New Wave feel -must be the Depeche. The remixes by Grammy-nominated Mac Quayle, Jerome Isma-ae, Featurecast, Gin & Gin, and Jealov only served to entice and hook me further; instead of dragging out the original’s feel, they each each breathed new life into the track, making each one stand out on their own.
Give Temporary Hero a shot, no matter who he/she/they are. You might be surprised either way.
