DJ OF THE WEEK 3.1.10: DJ C LO

Many of the DJ’s featured in DJ OF THE WEEK are world renowned DJ’s with years of spinning all over the world under their belt, but that isn’t a prerequisite; you simply have to be ill, making a name for yourself, and moving crowds with your mad skills, like this week’s selection, DJ C-Lo.

Reigning from Harlem, New York, C-Lo is a relative new jack compared to some of the DJ’s featured in DJOTW. He’s been spinning for nine years, having only started to take spinning seriously in his twenties, but don’t let that fool you. He’s got the skills! Soon after setting his sights on DJ stardom, he quickly made the jump to some of the hottest venues in the city like China Club, Jade Terrace, Club Exit, Club New York, and more, mucho mas. He then joined the infamous Heavy Hitters DJ crew, and began rocking industry parties, establishing himself as a legitimate party rocking DJ. And for some reason, this Latino cat of Ecuadorian descent was rocking parties full of some of the most gorgeous women in the city. This might be an aside, but one worth mentioning, you know, if you’re into that sort of thing.

As recently as last month, he was featured on Hot 97, in FunkMaster Flex’s DJ Takeover contest, where Flex is looking for some new on-air talent. We don’t think we can influence the vote in anyway, and that is definitely not our intention, but we sure do hope he gets the recognition. DJ C-Lo has skills and can sure rock a party, and that’s what a DJ OF THE WEEK is all about!
