Starkillers and Azuli Join Forces On Azuli Ibiza ’12 [MUSIC]

Over the past few years Starkillers has made a name for himself through his tough-edged, eclectic sound. Blending big hooks and riffs, soaring vocals and thumping beats his sound is the perfect blend of high-octane, fierce energy and genuine talent, as is truly at home amidst the contemporary sound of cutting-edge dance music.

One of the longest running labels in dance music and having held some of the most infamous beach parties on the island over the last two decades, Azuli have long been an authority on Ibiza and their position to act as tastemakers for the recent EDM explosion is unrivalled.

Starkillers production credentials speak for themselves. ‘Discoteka’ was made Essential New Tune by Pete Tong and received an IDMA Award nomination for his anthem, an award he then went on to win alongside Nadia Ali and Alex Kenji with the jaw-dropping ‘Pressure’.

“I have ADD” he explains of the hyperactive nature of his music. “I know people always say that, but I really do. I really try not to sound like anyone else or copy anyone. What’s the point in being in this biz if all you’re gonna do is try and sound like someone else? I do what I think is cool and don’t really care what people think. You’re either a fan or you’re not.”

His Azuli Ibiza ’12 mix is a fast a furious collection of some of the very finest examples of progressive house, expertly blended together is his unique style, and featuring tracks from Robbie Rivera, Tommy Trash, Seamus Haji & Nelski, Firebeatz, Sidney Samson, Dragonette, Laidback Luke, Alesso and many more.

The compilation comes packed with exclusives, with two coming from Starkillers himself; ‘Shut it Down’ feat. Natalie Peris – a record he made especially for Azuli – and the Starkillers and Dimitry KO remix of Juan Kidd & Felix Baumgartner feat. Lisa Millett ‘Now You’re Gone’.
