WEEKENDMIX 2.14.14: LET LOVE KEEP YOU WARM

I woke up this morning later than usual knowing there was no job to go to on account of snow. Being the good neighbor and tenant that I am, I set my mind to doing some shoveling after running an errand I simply couldn’t avoid no matter how much snow there was on the ground. Once that was out of the way I got to shoveling. Ok, ok, ok, I attempted to shovel is more like it.

All it took was to complete the stairs in front of the house to realize I am just not cut out for shoveling. Not only were my boots too short, my gloves are fingerless and cotton, and well, it was mufuggin cold. Besides, it was still coming down hard, what was the point, everything was going to be covered in a few minutes anyway. 10 minutes after I started, I was back inside, nice and warm, watching movies with my five year old son.

As I write this it is now raining hard. Very hard. Is snow thunder real, because that’s what a friend referred to it online, but then again, we’re not supposed to believe everything we read online, right?

Real or not, it’s cold, and it doesn’t seem the weather will be improving anytime soon. But if there was any time where it might not be so bad to be forced to stay indoors all weekend, then this is that weekend!

Forget shoveling at least for tonite, don’t even open the blinds, just press play on this sweet, melodic mix of nu Disco and balearica grooves and dream warm summer thoughts as you cuddle up under warm blankets next to that special someone (once the kids are asleep) and spend a warm romantic weekend doing nothing, but each other.
