When Scott Wozniak is behind the turntables he makes it look so easy and with over 20 years experience one would hope this was the case. Yet, something has to be said about that energy, that passion he infuses all his creative works with that goes beyond mere experience.
Taking a cue from how cool and laidback Wozniak is and how he leads his life, we’re not going to delve too deeply into his extensive discography or his collaborations with both underground stars such as Mateo & Matos, Simon Dunmore the founder of Defected records, and more mainstream stars such as Jill Scott and Seal among others; instead, we want to focus on his commitment to his craft.
Whether it is remixing, writing, scoring commercials, teaching aspiring producers the finer points of production software, or running his InnerVibeMusic label, for Wozniak, it’s not about the credits, the acclaim, or the perks; he exists because he loves and is one with his creations.
Wozniak reminds us that behind the one hit wonders, the Superstar DJs, and all the glitz and glamor there are people like him, who quietly keep the culture moving forward, progressing, and stable. We, the listeners, the students, the readers of his blog in which he shares his professional experiences with his fans, friends, and family alike, and of course, the dancers that get lost in the vibes he provides, are forever grateful for it.
